Thankful To Be A Texan

As we enter this season of gratitude, I find myself reflecting on the countless blessings God has poured into my life. Above everything else, I am thankful for my faith in Jesus Christ. His sacrifice on the cross, His grace, and the hope He offers guide every decision I make—as a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and as your representative. Thanksgiving is a beautiful reminder that every good thing we enjoy begins with Him.
I am also deeply grateful for my family. Since last Thanksgiving, I have become a grandmother for the very first time. Holding that sweet baby in my arms reminded me how precious life is and how important it is to fight for a Texas where every child has the freedom and opportunity to thrive. My husband, Will, continues to be my steady encourager, and the support of our children and now grandchild fills my heart more than words can express.
And to the people of House District 13—you are an enormous part of what I am thankful for this year. It is the honor of my life to represent such hardworking, faithful, and principled Texans. From our farmers and ranchers to our small-town businesses, churches, schools, and first responders, you embody the values that make rural Texas strong. Serving you is a privilege
I never take lightly.
Over the last week, I have reflected on how truly thankful I am to be a Texan. Here in Texas, we still believe in things worth defending: our freedoms, our families, our faith, and the principles that built this state. This year, we passed conservative policies that protect our children, strengthen parental rights, safeguard our land from foreign adversaries, promote life, and keep our communities safe.
These aren’t just political victories—they help secure the future we want for our kids and grandkids. Texas is the conservative beacon and economic powerhouse of our nation, and I am proud to call it home.
I encourage you to visit AngeliaOrr.com/Thankful to see
the specific policies we passed this year—policies that uphold our conservative values and keep Texas leading the way in freedom, faith, and opportunity.
While you’re there, I’d encourage you to sign up for my weekly email newsletter. Each week, I share updates, explain recent legislation, answer common questions, and highlight the victories conservatives are winning across
Texas. It’s one of the best ways we can stay connected, and I’d be honored to have you join us.
This Thanksgiving, my prayer is that your home is filled with peace, joy, and the presence of the Lord. May you be surrounded by the people you love, may God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the great State of Texas.
Thank you for reading this week’s column! I’ll be back next week with updates on more conservative victories we delivered in this year’s legislative sessions.
