The 89th Legislative Session is officially over—and it was the most conservative session Texas has ever seen. The gavel fell for the final time on Monday as the Texas House adjourned Sine Die, marking the close of a session where we stood firm for our values and delivered real results for House District 13 and all Texans.

As I packed up my desk and reflected on the long hours, hard-fought debates, and steady work behind the scenes, one word kept coming to mind: gratitude. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve House District 13, for the trust you’ve placed in me, and for the progress we made together this session.

I’m also humbled to share that—for the second session in a row—I received the Effective Conservative Award. This recognition isn’t about titles or headlines. It’s about staying true to our values, keeping my word, and delivering results. That’s exactly what happened this session.

One of the most important victories this session was delivering real property tax relief to Texas families. We raised the homestead exemption to $140,000 and increased the exemption for seniors and disabled Texans to $200,000 because those who have worked hard deserve to keep more of what they’ve earned. We also raised the small business personal property tax exemption from $2,500 to $125,000, helping local entrepreneurs grow without being weighed down by excessive taxes.

But property taxes were just the start. As chair of the Article II Appropriations Subcommittee, I had the privilege of leading efforts to secure vital funding for rural health care. We expanded grants to stabilize rural hospitals, increased access to pediatric mental health programs, and invested in life-saving emergency services like ambulance grants and mobile stroke units. These investments aren’t just numbers on a budget—they will save lives in small towns across our district and state.

This session, I was proud to pass 17 of the bills I authored, along with many others that I co-authored, all focused on advancing conservative priorities. Many of the bills I authored were brought to me directly by constituents—people in our community who shared their concerns and ideas. I listen closely to the needs of House District 13 and work hard to turn those needs into real solutions that reflect our shared values.

I also had the honor of authoring two key House priority bills this session. House Bill 24 tackles the housing crisis with commonsense solutions that protect property rights and empower communities. House Bill 128 bans sister-city agreements with foreign adversary nations, safeguarding Texas sovereignty and ensuring local governments remain fully accountable to their citizens.

Throughout the session, we passed legislation to defend Texas land from foreign ownership, secured billions for border security, supported public education with major funding increases through House Bill 2, and stood firm against radical social agendas that threaten our values and our children’s futures. We secured election integrity, stopped high-speed rail projects that threaten rural property rights, and passed pro-life laws that support mothers and babies.

Because of this work, I’m proud to have earned the endorsements of President Donald Trump, Governor Greg Abbott, and Congressman Jake Ellzey. These leaders know I stand unwaveringly for conservative principles that strengthen our communities.

As the session closes, know this is not the end of our work together. In the coming weeks, I will share more about the legislation we passed and how it will impact you and your family. I encourage you to stay connected through my updates, social media, and district events. Let’s keep this conversation going—your voice matters, and together, we will keep fighting for the values that make Texas strong.

Thank you again for the honor of serving you. I will keep showing up, speaking up, and standing strong for House District 13.
